SUMMARY
Chase Brownstone applies MmD Architecture’s urban infill approach to a mixed use neighborhood in Wheat Ridge, bringing the pedestrian engagement, refined materiality, and strong street presence that define the firm’s work to a context where that standard is rarely set. Twelve units across three three-story buildings address Chase Street with front porches, raised brick planters, and a generous proportion of glazing that animates the facade and connects each unit to the life of the street. Strong two-tone masonry anchors the composition, vertical board and batten siding introduces variation in the upper volumes, and metal shade canopies with dark bronze trim give the buildings a refined, precise edge. The design shares a sensibility with Zenobia Fourteen, asserting that urban infill quality and pedestrian-scaled architecture belong as much outside Denver’s city limits as within them.
